The subject of Speech Prosody today covers a huge multidisciplinary area of research involving scientists from very different backgrounds and traditions, including linguistics, acoustics, speech synthesis and recognition, cognitive psychology, neuroscience, speech therapy, language teaching. The aims of the Special Interest Group on Speech Prosody (SProSIG) are to promote the study and diffusion of knowledge about Speech Prosody, in particular, by maintaining the continuity and quality of the biennial international conference Speech Prosody. SProSIG is a special interest group of ISCA (the International Speech Communication Association) and of the IPA (the International Phonetic Association).
