Spotted wing drosophila (SWD), Drosophila suzukii, is a fruit fly that infests economically valuable small fruit and tree fruit crops, including ripening cherry, raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and strawberry crops. The SWD now appears to be well established in many fruit growing regions around the country. Growers and researchers are working together to seek and implement effective pest control strategies.
