Dear All,

We are pleased to announce that the NSF will provide some funding for the
event

Homotopy Theory in the Ecliptic: Chromatic, Equivariant, and Motivic
Mathematics: A Conference in Honor of Doug Ravenel's 70th Birthday and the
Total Solar Eclipse, which will take place August 18-21, 2017 at Reed College,
Portland Oregon.

To be considered for funding you must register by

May 31, 2017

Registration by this date is also necessary to guarantee participation in the
Total Eclipse Excursion.

This four day event will consist of three days of research talks in chromatic,
equivariant, and motivic homotopy theory (August 18-20) and an organized
excursion to see the total solar eclipse on August 21. There will be a banquet
on Saturday, August 19. If you want to see the eclipse, please plan
accordingly!

Lodging:

Participants are responsible for booking their own lodging. Please make
reservations as soon as possible as Oregon is one of the hottest destinations
for the eclipse. Participants are eligible for the Reed College rate at any of
the hotels listed here:

http://www.reed.edu/accommodations.html

The conference will provide transportation from downtown to campus, so you may
want to select a hotel in that area, e.g., the Heathman. There are also
affordable hotels in the Convention Center area. For options closer to Reed
campus, we recommend searching on sites like airbnb.com.
