We would like to remind you about a Conference entitled:

        "(A)round forms, cycles and motives".

This Conference will take place at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz (Germany)

         September 8 - 12, 2014.

Invited speakers include:

Luca Barbieri Viale, Jean-Benoît Bost, Jean-Louis Colliot-Thélène, Ishai Dan-Cohen, Charles De Clercq, Jean Fasel, Olivier Haution, Detlev Hoffmann, Annette Huber, Nikita Karpenko, Moritz Kerz, Roland Lötscher, Alexander Merkurjev, Ivan Panin, Alena Pirutka, Markus Rost, Stephen Scully, Ismael Soudères, Alexander Vishik, Kirill Zainoulline.

Organizers: Stefan Gille, Marc Levine, Stefan Mueller-Stach, and Nikita Semenov.

This Conference is on the occasion of the 80th birthday of Albrecht Pfister. The "Round forms" in the title refer to Albrecht Pfister's groundbreaking work in quadratic form theory at the end of the 60s. Contrary to some rumor (which led us to the first announcement of this conference) round forms have not been introduced by Albrecht Pfister himself. These forms are Ernst Witt's afterthoughts of Albrecht Pfister's famous (strongly) multiplicative forms which are nowadays called Pfister forms.

This Conference is supported by the SFB/Transregio 45 Bonn-Essen-Mainz and is financed by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG). Limited funds are available to support participants of the Conference.

We are looking forward seeing you in Mainz,

Stefan Gille, Marc Levine, Stefan Mueller-Stach, and Nikita Semenov.
